On a Monday night, I saw on TV two people running for a talent concert. The first, a young woman of about 20 years, but with a rather pale presence on stage, hesitant, with an average performance, to express myself elegantly.
The second, a 60-year-old lady, who had gone through a difficult test in terms of health, but with a young, dynamic, casual, remarkable, fresh stage presence. All this added to the voice made the performance very good, surprising.
These few minutes strengthened my belief that you can have a young spirit at any age and you can be aged in attitude, mentality, even though you are twenty years old.
Maybe you’ve met people who complain all the time that they’re tired, who always find excuses not to do something. When we were little and didn’t feel like doing anything, my mother would tell us, “Come on, faster, don’t step three times in one place.” I am always amused by this image, a kind of ‘tot pe loc, pe loc, pe loc’. I do not know what emergence, certainly not basil. Maybe another lazy seed.
Coming back, please think about the people you admire. How many of them are moving in slow motion? How many of them are full of energy, are fresh, are always radiant, happy? We are inspired by those who shine through their energy, through their desire to be and do things, not those who blow our candle and extinguish it.
