When I was a child, my mother lost her wedding ring. It was large and made of gold. It was autumn, we lived in a house with a tree in our yard. She always had to pick up the fallen leaves. During that day she was picking a bag full of leaves and somehow, she dropped her wedding ring in them. When she realized that, she emptied the bag, spread the leaves and found it – extremely fast it seemed to me back then. Maybe gold comes to the surface and shines, I thought.
People are like gold. Those who are valuable come to surface and will not be covered by dust. I like to think that we have a valuable person within us (the same way we have our shadows). It is good to take care of this valuable person the same way we take care of valuable objects.
I often hear people say that they should be more tolerant, firmer, show their feminine side, change, and learn different tricks. Why? To please others (partner, manager, colleague), to feel appreciated, to be noticed, because that is how they think they keep up with our times, or better said with the whims of their partner or manager.
I propose that we look instead at:
Who are we beyond the business card.
What we like, what makes us happy.
What we dislike.
What makes us sad.
What would we do if money were not an issue.
What advice would we give our self of 20 years ago.
In 20 years’ time, what would we like others to say about us and how would we like to be.
The intrinsic power we have, we should not let anyone take it away from us and should not let anyone cut our wings.
Our capacity to take risks without any fear.
Not crying over someone who does not deserve it. I read somewhere that no one deserves to be cried over, because those who deserve will never make you cry. Let’s not forget that when someone tell us that we are too much for her/him, and we are too much, it is better to have the courage and get out of the relationship.
To be ourselves instead of trying to be someone else; a lot of times we show a different image of who we are and then we get upset because people do not understand us. The way we are is our competitive advantage. It is better to accept who we are and be comfortable in our own skin.
To let our inner, deeper being exist, to manifest; it is like the golden ring, it will come to the surface and find a way to shine.
