Since I spent the holidays ‘Home Alone’, as the movie says, I had time to do a lot: read, watched a lot of movies, listened to a lot of podcasts. But I also hung out online. Fortunately, I’d say, because I caught up on what’s going on, as befits a contemporary of the times. Thus, I learned a few things I couldn’t seem to live without:

What the local and international “stars” have been eating;
Who various international influencers dated or broke up with;
Who has given birth, who is expecting (I had the rare “opportunity” to see them almost naked, pregnant as they were);
What they/they and their families are wearing on New Year’s Eve;
Where they spend their holidays, in which countries, hotels, spas, exclusive resorts, Carpathian-Danubian and global stars.

To be fair, I have to say I’ve also seen a few people recommending a book, a movie, an exhibition, but clearly, they don’t really matter, they don’t have thousands and thousands of “followers”, they’re not trendy, “on trend”.
Of course, on the other hand, it’s possible to be sour grapes, to gnaw on my bad envy, to bite my nails because I haven’t been skiing around the world (I hate the cold), I haven’t been to Santa Claus country, I haven’t taken sexy pictures with my bare belly or my toes showing, I haven’t eaten exotic stuff or whatever.

Of course, this is all like the screen-saver on my laptop. But life is beyond these pictures, much more complex, varied, with salt and pepper, ups and downs, smiles and tears.
Anyway, I’ve calmed down now, these holidays are over, let’s see what else comes out in January, what will be the “trends”.

Until then, Happy New Year!
