If you have been to Prague, you may have been on Charles Bridge. It is said that if you go there with your loved one and kiss on the bridge, you will be together forever.

In Paris Pont des Arts, one of the bridges across the Seine, was until recently full of locks put there by lovers, as if to forever immortalize the hope of a great love. The authorities removed the locks due to the risks related to the safety of the bridge. The hopes of boundless love endangered the bridge itself.

On one hand the number of love confessions grew, and on the other the divorce rate grew as well. It is interesting that these people chose the bridge as a place for this kind of promises. The bridge is the link between two shores, between two worlds, metaphorically speaking, his world and her world, be it external or inner worlds.

This bridge is the symbol of a connection for which both of them should be responsible, in equal parts; everyone should come to their half and meet, to stay, and take responsibility for staying. However, many times, we go on this bridge just to have a place to come from, to see how it feels, to have an experience. We go into a relationship, unfortunately, promising each other the earth and the moon, only to leave shortly after, in search of something else, and so on.

It is ok, so to speak, there are so many bridges, why not try them all? It seems in the nature of things when you are 20 years old. I wonder what it is like when the other half stays on the bridge, on her/his side, with a child, and you go on and put locks on other bridges.

Having said that, I love bridges and the superstitions that people attach to them.
After all, we are all in search of a love supreme similar to the stories told by the bridges, right?
