In one of the Christmas movies I’ve seen recently, one of the characters, who is very old, decorates his white beard with some colourful globes for the Christmas Eve party.
This image stuck in my mind; it made me think of those people who talk a lot, are loud, very expressive, gesticulate a lot.
Sometimes I think that these people seem to have little glowing orbs hanging from them.
They are sociable, communicative, vivacious, enthusiastic, the life of a party and a meeting.
I’m not like that, sometimes I wish I could have that demeanor. I do, however, enjoy the company of people with bells.
At the other end of the expressiveness spectrum are the reserved, withdrawn, more introverted people. They observe, they are observant, they analyze, you would say they are non-participatory. But that’s not the case at all, it’s better not to go by appearances and ask their opinion. Their observant spirit might pleasantly surprise us and how deeply they think, how attentive they can be to details that may escape more outgoing people.
Of course, between the two extremes, there are many nuances.
We may have preferences, we find it easier with some than with others, depending on our own profile. I’m more centered, I can be in Dopey’s gang, I can also have the bells (though only a few).
Where do you find yourself?
