One evening, last week, I turned on the TV a bit, it was past 9 PM. I had finished working and was doing some chores around the house. I was struck by the aggression of the commentators, hosts or guests of the show. It didn’t matter what they were talking about, I turned off the TV quickly. I no longer have the patience for such manifestations. It’s as if they’re just pouring venom in our ears, drop by drop, charging us negatively.

I see quite a lot of hatred in social media, in the relationships between people in companies, in the media. It’s like I went from ‘I am, therefore I am to ‘I’m a hater, therefore I am. How does this hatred manifest itself?

Through totally misplaced comments on social media, the kind of comments that the paper would not handle; they usually come from people who are in a network of friends, people with whom we do not necessarily know, but who feel entitled to chew us out;

Through emotional emails, with accusations, pointed fingers, heavy words;

Through telephone conversations in which one accuses the other, they hold theories;

By disapproving of anything other than what we see, down to our own noses;

By the vehemence with which we support our opinions, without accepting that others have the right to have their own;

Through the behavior of plantation masters of some who have some power (forgetting that the functions are temporary, you can be up today and down tomorrow);

By the attitude of primadones who ‘deserve’, who believe that only because they exist they have all the rights in the world, except the right to make an effort, to assume responsibilities and to act accordingly;

By saying something positive in front of a person and denigrating them behind their back;

By the aggressive tone we use in any kind of media, as we told at the beginning.

I know, we’re tired of everything the last year has brought us. But a little empathy, a little care for others, a gram of elegance in communication, in relationships, a little respect for another human, whoever they may be, might tame us. We have all been dancing in the moving realms for the past year, we will continue to dance, it can be dizzying, confusing, stressful. But it is better to learn to dance than to fight continuously, the fight is energy consuming, while the dance is a good generator.
