I had a repetitive dream for a few years in a row: I was in a castle with many rooms, in which there was something like an international exhibition of the best chocolatiers; I passed quickly through each room, tased all kinds of chocolate, then ran to the next one, and so on. At the castle’s exit, there was a huge bridge towards which I was running.

However, not all castle doors were open. Sometimes I had to pull hard to open them. There were other people around, I could see them, interact slightly with them, but then I moved forward, alone, as if I was looking for something.

Similarly to this road through the castle, I believe we walk through various rooms, in reality, we cross various chapters in life, sometimes we have to go further, to open other doors, but it becomes difficult, it seems impossible. We are so stuck, attached to one person, to a way of doing things, to our habits, that we don’t even see that there is a door through which we can go out. Or, in other cases, we see the door, we want to go to another room, to another reality, to the life we want, but we also want to take with us all the luggage from the other room, all those around us. We forget, however, that some may not wish to come, that maybe it’s not for them, that they themselves have a dream about another reality, one in which we may not be. Or maybe it might be too hard to take them with us, it would be like trying to swim with someone on your back whilst barely being able to swim yourself.

We better go learn how to swim, improve it, then come after them.

In order to go through the various rooms of the enormous castle that is our life, we should better believe in ourselves, put a dose of pressure on ourselves, so that we can be able to open the doors, to take those who wish to join us, to leave behind, little by little, the habits that are no longer appropriate, to save ourselves first, then to come after the loved ones, those who we want by our side.

But imagine that we want to force someone to walk through the huge castle doors with us and that someone opposes and wants us to stay where he/she is. What a waste of opportunity, what a lack of curiosity, what inertia and what pity of this life, to spend it like leeches stuck deep and whole onto a body …
