A look of admiration caught by mistake

A seemingly passing touch

A child’s face when they want to convince of you of something

The smell of autumn when the wind starts to blow, in October

The feeling of sweetness and childhood, given by the fragrance of jam roses

Rain drops on a cheek

The smell of warm sweet bread on the block’s hallway on Christmas eve

The spark that ignites between two special minds who meet

The epidemic energy you feel around two lovers

The slight rustle that takes place in the space between two people who seem to avoid looking at or touching each other because they know that, if they do, they can no longer be separated from each other

The joy given by the sun’s reflection in the sea and the entire world of the eternal vacations that the light encompasses

The feeling you get from reading a book quote in the Pleiade edition, as you touch it with great care, like the fine skin of a most beloved one

The taste of sea water and of hot sand, on the skin

The feeling that time stood still, on a late evening when you cannot get enough of talking to someone

All of those were delicately suggested by several directors over the years. Claude Lelouch is one of those who managed, in my opinion, to capture the ineffable, in his film, ‘Un Homme et une femme’. Michael Curtiz captured such moments in Casablanca.

What such moments can you add to the list?
