Today is International Gratitude Day. I’m not someone who practices gratitude exercises daily; I take these trendy guidelines with a pinch of salt. But I do often think of the people dear to me, those who have made an impact on my life. Sometimes I write to them, call them, and other times, I postpone and forget for a while.

But for the sake of the exercise, I’ll write a few lines. I am grateful for:

  • Being in London for a few days, and the weather has been beautiful.
  • Reuniting here with a former student from my teaching days (and I’m proud to know her).
  • Meeting up with a friend here and going to the theater together.
  • Being able to walk 20,000 steps daily.
  • Having a company that celebrated 27 years in September, with many projects not only in Romania but also in other countries.
  • The fact that my immediate family members who are still around are doing well.
  • Having met people who guided me, others who taught me a lot, some who believed in me when I had lost faith in myself, and also those who taught me what to avoid.
  • Managing to overcome many obstacles and accepting what I couldn’t change.

What are you grateful for?
